4/12/2023 0 Comments Evil dead book of the dead pagesThis accounts for the different appearence of the books (different flesh used to bind the books) but also opens up possibilities for expanded media to still be canon. Each of them are sort of duplicates from chapters of the full Necronomicon, created in the same way. The book in Evil Dead 1&2 focusing specifically on Kandarian demons - those that lurk in the forests and dark bowers (we see this as Ash turns the pages in the first two movies, there's nothing else in there) and in Evil Dead 2013, that Naturum De Monto focuses on the abomination, a demon that requires five souls to be reborn. If we consider the book we see in Army of Darkness and Ash vs Evil Dead to be the Necronomicon (the large complete volume) then what we see in Evil Dead 1 & 2 can be a Naturum De Monto - smaller 'bitesized' volumes focusing on specific demons. Why? He is speaking of two different things. My personal take on it is this: In Evil Dead 2 intro, we hear Knowby's voice speak of the Necronomicon Ex Mortis (the book that disappeared in 1300ad) yet in his tape recordings, he translates it as Naturum De Monto. But now that is becoming reality with 'Evil Dead Rise'. And as others have pointed out, the original script called for multiple (I think 6?) books. I've always said there are multiple books.
